Perenco Rio del Rey, operator of the Rio del Rey PSC along with its partners SNH and Addax Petroleum have decided a pause on their multi million redevelopment plan of the multiple stacked reservoirs spread across the basin. The pause is welcome for Dixstone to allow some fundamental maintenance of the rig and its tender barge ADN130, all maintenance being done in situ in Cameroon improving the local content of the project..
The ongoing journey of the LUG in the Rio del Rey basin can boast excellent HSE performance and good general rig uptime with unprecedent beaten challenges like ultra shallow water development in Kita field (untouched since the 80’s !) or the exploration target reached with a 3.5km deport in Ekundu field. The LUG is a platform rig adapted for the Rio del Rey 22m*22m production platform decks, a fantastic design & execution achievement by Dixstone.
