The first season of the Barge Training Center’s journey, from Gabon to Cameroon, through the DRC and Congo has been achieved this month. During the last 18 months, the BTC has trained nearly 2,500 site technician trainees and 200 supervisors.
The figures demonstrate Perenco ongoing commitment: 750 people trained in Gabon between September 2022 and February 2023, 650 in the DRC between March and June 2023, 600 in Congo Brazzaville from July to September 2023, and almost 700 people trained in Cameroon from October to January.
But this is just the beginning of an exciting story as we continue to ensure the safety, availability and competitiveness of our oil and gas operations over the long term.
The BTC has been build on request of Perenco Group to host a unique and groundbreaking mobile training center where all Oil & Gas activities are represented as they are on site. With a mix of theory and practice, the trainees can ask all the questions they always had but never asked for. They also get a safety training with state of art HSE center, SCW95 certified which includes a swimming pool, a life boat escape and fire extinguishing place.
