mopu-c

After two months in transit from Flushing on the Dixstone owned semi-sub transport barge Karaveg, and 10 days of reactivation in Port-Gentil, The MOLQU COLGA, renamed MOPU-C, was jacked into its final position last month on the Tchatamba field, Gabon.

This was followed by the installation, connection and commissioning of the new 136-pax living quarters, which was warmly received by staff.

At the same time, with the assistance of Dixstone's Sianna lifting barge, work is underway to decommission the old living quarters and replace a crane.

This is an important milestone in terms of ensuring quality living quarters, as well as safety at this H2S site. It also allows us to look forward with confidence to the next phases of Tchatamba's development.

MOLQU is one of the various option of conversion of second hand drilling rigs designed and executed by Dixstone in its owned dutch shipyard located in Vlissingen, Netherlands. Dixstone has also performed there MODU, MOPU, MOCU and various combinations like MOPoDU, MOPPoLQU, etc. This modular design allow to tailor this offshore self elevating deck to any needs.
